.

Photograph wildlife in stunning settings that showcase natural behavior, dynamic movement, and powerful eye contact—those fleeting, emotional moments that transform a simple wildlife shot into a portfolio-worthy image. You’ll work in carefully selected locations that maximize photographic potential while respecting the animals and their habitat.

This immersive wildlife workshop includes 9 professionally guided wildlife photography sessions, structured to maximize both variety and quality of subject matter and setting.

Participants will photograph a selection of species based on optimal photographic conditions, animal availability, and weather considerations to ensure the strongest possible shooting opportunities.

Sessions will include:

  • 2 sessions featuring large, primary species, selected from:
Snow Leopard, Grizzly Bear, Wolf Interaction, and Mountain Lion
  • 7 sessions featuring smaller species, selected from:
Arctic Fox, Red Fox, Gray Fox, Cross Fox, Silver Fox, Canada Lynx, Eurasian Lynx, Tundra Wolf, Arctic Wolf, Bobcat, Coyote, Porcupine, Badger, River Otter, Pine Marten

Wildlife photography sessions are scheduled across three primary shooting days, typically with three sessions per day (based on weather, light, and animal activity). A fourth day is reserved as a weather contingency day to provide the best workshop experience. If the fourth day is not required for weather-related makeup sessions, additional photo sessions may be offered at an additional rate of $175 per person, per session.

Approximately four weeks prior to the workshop, participants will attend a live online Zoom webinar to ensure that all attendees arrive prepared and ready to shoot at a high level from day one.

Topics will include:

  • Recommended gear and accessories
  • Optimal camera settings for fast-moving and unpredictable subjects
  • Compositional approaches that strengthen wildlife storytelling

Upon arrival and continuing throughout the workshop, Scott will provide in- field instruction tailored to real-world shooting conditions.

You’ll learn:

  • Autofocus strategies and tracking techniques
  • Lens selection and long-lens handling
  • Exposure control in changing light
  • Techniques for capturing sharp images in high-action scenarios

After daily sessions conclude, participants may attend an optional image processing demonstration, or explore the landscape and wildlife of the Kalispell area independently.

A few weeks following the workshop, a “reunion” Zoom session will be held to share images, provide critique, and reinforce post- processing and compositional techniques.

Whether you’re looking to build a stronger wildlife portfolio or simply want to experience the thrill of photographing animals in their natural environment, this 4-day workshop offers the knowledge, access, and inspiration to take your photography to the next level.
