Triple D offers a wide range of natural filming locations designed to showcase wildlife in authentic, scenic Montana settings. From forested backdrops and open meadows to ponds and rocky ridges, each site is carefully chosen to provide photographers and filmmakers with beautiful, realistic environments that bring every subject to life.
On-site Filming Areas
Our main filming compounds are located right here on the Triple D Ranch. Guests can park at the ranch and easily walk to all on-site areas. These locations are designed for comfort and accessibility while still maintaining a natural, wilderness feel.
The on-site compounds feature a mix of forested patches, open fields, and brushy terrain — all within a short walking distance. These areas commonly host sessions with Bruno the grizzly bear, wolves, Pine Marten, Skunks, and other small species. However, a variety of species may be featured here depending on the conditions, availability, and your specific session goals. Each setup is maintained to provide clean, natural backgrounds and safe, realistic environments for both photography and filming.
Off-site Filming Areas
In addition to our on-site areas, Triple D has several off-site filming compounds located just a short drive from the ranch. These sites offer diverse and dramatic scenery, including rocky cliffs, ponds, and open landscapes.
Off-site locations are typically used for larger or more wide-ranging species such as mountain lion, snow leopard, wolf, river otter, fox, and others that thrive in these natural surroundings. Depending on the type of session, other species may also be scheduled at off-site locations to best fit your creative vision.
Most off-site sites are easy to access, though some require a short walk uphill to reach the filming area. Parking can be limited, so carpooling is encouraged when possible. During the winter months, a four-wheel-drive vehicle is recommended for snowy or slick conditions. We are committed to making our locations as accessible as possible and are happy to assist wheelchair users or anyone who may need additional support.
