Establish in 1972, Triple “D” was the first of it’s kind to offer their trained animal models for wildlife photography and cinematography. In 1972, Triple “D” was owned and operated for the purpose of propagating wild animal species common to the Northwest.
It was a family operated business involving Jay’s father, Lorney Deist, who was a Game Warden for the State of Montana. Lorney was Jay’s inspiration and was instrumental in teaching Jay animal behavior and how to care for and train wild animals. In 1975 a movie company contacted Triple “D” and arrangements were made to provide animal models for a movie on wolverine. This initiated the interest in providing trained animals to the cinema and still photography industry

Since that first movie over 50 years ago, Triple “D” has provided a service to a variety of still photographers and movie companies.
Our excellent reputation has been built serving our customers, both professional and amateur, and our clientele consists of many of the most published and well-known wildlife photographers and artists in the world.
Triple “D” prides itself on the care and health of our animals, as well as preserving endangered species, so that they may be enjoyed by future generations.
Our animal models have also visited local schools and visited by educational groups so that children and adults gain an appreciation for these wild creatures in hopes that they too will work towards protecting the decreasing wildland habitats.
Triple “D” offers a variety of animal species to photograph in a large selection of natural settings. You will have the opportunity to photograph trained animals which have appeared in many popular nature films.
You will be working with experienced and caring animal trainers in professionally designed enclosures with no fence between you and the animals. Because the animals are in their natural environment you will be able to observe a variety of behaviors, giving you incomparable photographic opportunities.

Triple “D” also caters to the cinematography industry to include film crews from National Geographic, Nature, Disney, BBC, and many others to film our wildlife models.
Triple “D” is owned and operated by Jay and Kim Deist. Jay, a Montana Native, began working with orphaned and injured animals as a child. Kim has always had a love for animals and now aids in caring for the young, and other animals that require special care.
The Deists reside in Kalispell, Montana. When not traveling or working with the business, they treasure their time off enjoying the scenic beauty of Montana and its wilderness areas.
